Eight Southwest Florida circuit court judges keep their seats

Eight Southwest Florida circuit court judges will keep their spot on the bench after no challengers filed to run against them by Friday’s noon qualifying deadline.

In Collier County, Judges Jim Shenko and Lauren L. Brodie will retain their seats.

Lee County Circuit Judges Nick Thompson, Jay B. Rosman, Ramiro Manalich and Alane Laboda will retain their seats on the bench.

Hendry County Circuit Court Judge James D. Sloan retains his seat; as does Charlotte Circuit Judge Robert J. Branning.

All of the judges sit on the 20th Judicial Circuit.

More than 100 circuit court judges retained their seats on the bench Friday after no challenger filed to run against them. The qualifying period for judicial, state attorney and public defender races ran through noon Friday.
