The Florida Professional Firefighters Association has thrown its support behind Anitere Flores.
Flores, a Miami Republican, announced Monday the association endorsed her in the Senate District 39 campaign.
“The Florida Professional Firefighters Association is proud to support Senator Flores for State Senate,” said Jim Tolley, President of the Florida Professional Firefighters Association, in a statement. “Flores has been committed to keeping our community safe, and has shown vision and steadfast leadership to advocate for firefighters and first responders.”
The Florida Professional Firefighters Association is a state association chartered by the International Association of Firefighters. In a statement, Wil Fleites, the sixth district vice president, said Flores has been a “steadfast advocate for Florida’s firefighters and paramedics.”
Flores said she was “honored and humbled to receive the endorsement.”
“Public safety is the most vital role of any local government, and firefighters and emergency service responders are some of the most selfless and hardworking individuals keeping our community safe,” she said. “I look forward to working with them to help our community continue its growth and strengthen our public safety.”
Flores faces Democrat Andrew Michael Korge and Shelia Y. Lucas George, a no party affiliate candidate, in the SD 39 race.
