Glad we could help jog your memory, Susan Glickman

Ever get that nagging feeling you forgot something important, without remembering exactly what that is?

A sure bet might be that Susan Glickman felt that way, and just needed a little reminder.

SaintPetersBlog called out Glickman, who has been director of the Southern Alliance Clean Energy Fund since 2013, on Friday for her “hypocritical” transparency problem.

Previously, she appeared before the Senate Appropriations Committee, discussing the importance of registering lobbyists.

A noble idea, indeed.

However, a search on FloridaLobbyist.gov showed Glickman herself had not registered as a lobbyist for anyone, despite appearing before committees at least three other times this session:

  • House Energy Subcommittee on March 4
  • Energy & Utilities Subcommittee on March 16
  • House Energy Committee on March 24

Each time, Glickman filed an appearance record as a registered lobbyist although nowhere in the state’s online tracking system did she appear to have actually registered for 2015. Nor was Glickman listed in the lobbyists’ registration system.

At least until today.

Search the state’s lobbyist registration system afternoon — and Glickman’s name now appears.

Sure, it could have been an oversight. Maybe not. We may never know. Nevertheless, a rookie error like that — complaining about lobbyist registration while you are not registered — is not only ironic, but not quite the smartest move.

Glad we were able to jog her memory, Susan.
