A fundraiser is set for State Attorney Angela Corey Saturday afternoon, hosted by Sheriff Mike Williams and Joanna and Curt Pajcic.
The fundraiser’s host committee is stacked with public safety employees and union heads.
The local Fraternal Order of Police and International Association of Fire Fighters are featured, as well as their respective heads, Randy Wyse and Steve Zona.
Also featured: Tom Hackney, director of Investigations and Homeland Security of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. And Michelle Cook, director of Professional Standards.
Notably, the fundraiser is for the hard money side of the campaign, not the political committee, capping contributions per person at $1,000.
Many members of the host committee donated that to Corey already.
The Corey campaign has $85,000 on hand in hard money, making this fundraiser pivotal, as her political committee only has $42,000 on hand.

Corey had been dominating the fundraising race when her sole opponent was former political supporter Wes White; however, since Melissa Nelson entered the race two months ago, money has been going Nelson’s way.
