Sen. Marco Rubio will help Florida Republicans open offices in the Panama City this week.
The Republican Party of Florida announced it is opening an RPOF Victory office in Panama City later this week. Rubio, a Miami Republican running for re-election, is expected to be on hand.
“As we work to ensure Republicans win up and down the ballot in Florida come November, the Panama City Victory office is the first of many that will serve as a center for grassroots activists and volunteers working to get out the vote,” said Rubio in a statement.
Rubio said he is “committed to ensuring that we have the necessary resources to win in November.”
Rubio faces Republican Carlos Beruff in the Aug. 30 primary. He’s widely expected to win in August, with recent polls showing he has a double-digit lead over the Manatee County homebuilder.
Blaise Ingoglia, the chair of the state GOP and a state lawmaker, said the Panama City office is the first of many the RPOF will open in the coming days.
“It is with great excitement that we announce the opening of our Panama City Victory office on the Emerald Coast. With a hub for our grassroots operations in the western Florida region in place, our efforts will only continue to intensify,” he said in a statement. “As we pave the road to victory in November, we look forward to engaging with Florida voters on the issues impacting our state and nation.”
The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday.
