The endorsements keep coming.
The Florida Retail Federation announced it was backing state Sen. Lizbeth Benacquisto in her re-election bid. The endorsement was one of several the state’s retail trade association announced Wednesday.
The association also endorsed Reps. Brad Drake, Tom Goodson and Rene Plasencia.
“Retail is such an important industry in the success of our state, and the four legislative leaders have all shown their incredible support for our industry during their time in office,” said Randy Miller, the president and CEO of the Florida Retail Federation. “We’re proud to support the election efforts of Sen. Benacquisto and Reps. Drake, Goodson and Plasencia, and we look forward to continued partnership with each of them.”
Benacquisto is running for re-election in Senate District 27. The Fort Myers Republican faces Republican Jason Maughan in the Aug. 30 primary.
Drake, an Eucheeanna Republican, is running for re-election in House District 5. He faces a primary challenge from Republican Bev Kilmer. Goodson is running for re-election in House District 51. The Titusville Republican faces Republican Tim Tumulty in the primary.
Plasencia is running for re-election in House District 50. The Orlando Republican will face George Collins in the Aug. 30 Republican primary.
