“First Coast Values,” the political committee supporting Melissa Nelson in the 4th Circuit State Attorney race, has delivered a devastating mailer in Northeast Florida mailboxes.
The subject? Angela Corey.
The contention?
That for the “career politician” who occupies the state attorney’s office, “eight long profitable years” is enough.
The mailer describes Corey as a “failed prosecutor” and a “$ucce$$ful career politician,” adding that Corey’s “eight disastrous years as state attorney” is an argument for term limits.
“Instead of focusing on prosecuting the criminals on our streets,” the mailer contends, “she’s played politics with her office and made herself rich. She’s only looking out for herself!”
The mailer, citing articles in the Florida Times-Union and on FloridaPolitics.com, notes Corey’s net worth is up almost 250 percent since assuming office, joining the “millionaire’s club” even as she “gave pay raises to employees who contributed to her campaign.”
It is August, and this race and others are set to get nasty.
This mailer comes on the heels of a hit piece by Corey’s own political committee, one being circulated in a sponsored post by the third candidate in the race, Wes White.
