Melissa Nelson and Angela Corey

What a difference a few years and a contested election makes.

In October 2009, Melissa Nelson left Angela Corey‘s state attorney office. Nelson sent an email describing the “thrilling and memorable ride” that was her time as an assistant state attorney, in which she described being “inspired … awestruck … and humbled” by her colleagues.

Corey’s response? Worth noting.

Corey lauded the missive: “As always, Melissa, most eloquently said.”

“We thank you for sharing your amazing talent with us the last 12+ years. The citizens of this community are safer because you cared so much and fought so hard! You have tried some of the most difficult cases in this circuit and I am proud to call you both co-counsel and friend.”
