The second quarter of 2016 remained busy for the government affairs teams at several prominent law firms.
Law firms posted strong earnings during the three-month reporting period. Firms are required to file compensation reports each quarter, and the most recent reports were due Aug. 14. The reports typically include compensation ranges.
Reports show Colodny Fass, and The Advocacy Group at Cardenas Partners earned at least $250,000; while Foley & Lardner, and Gunster Yoakley & Stewart reported earning at least $100,000 during the three-month period.

Gunster Yoakley & Stewart stayed busy in the second quarter.
The Tallahassee-based firm reported earning between $100,000 and $249,999 during the three-month period. That’s slightly less than the first quarter, when the firm reported a total compensation range of between $250,000 and $499,999. The firm, according to LobbyTools, reported median first quarter earnings of $250,000.
A slight dip could be because of the timing of the 2016 legislative session. The Legislature met from January to March this year, instead of in the spring. That means the second quarter covers the months after session ended.
The lobbying team at Gunster is made up of Joanna Lee Clary Bonfanti, Derek Bruce, Lila Jaber, Gregory Munson, J. Larry Williams, and Cameron Yarbrough.
Top clients during the three-month period included the Coalition of Affordable Housing Providers, Florida Goodwill Association, Frontier Communications Corp., and RAI Services Co. Records show those companies paid between $20,000 and $29,999 for legislative services.
