For Joan Crawford, it was wire hangers. For Florida State University, it’s bags that aren’t see through that are “no more.”
FSU on Wednesday said it will allow only clear bags into Doak Campbell Stadium on game days.
“The standard 12 inches x 6 inches x 12 inches bag size is still in place, but beginning this year, any bag being brought into (the) stadium must be clear plastic, PVC or vinyl,” according to a 2,400-word press release sent by the school.
It’s an exhaustive list of tips, rules, traffic info and other information in advance of the Seminoles’ first home game this Saturday against the Charleston Southern Buccaneers.
“Small clutch-style bags no larger than 6.5 inches x 4.5 inches will also be allowed,” the release also says. “Patrons are limited to one bag, or one bag and one clutch per person.”
The full list of prohibited items now includes:
— Alcohol or illegal drugs
— Weapons or explosives
— Umbrellas
— Food or beverage from outside the stadium (empty bottles or cups will be permitted)
— Hard coolers or ice chests
— All bags that are not clear plastic, vinyl or PVC
— All bags larger than 12 inches x 6 inches x 12 inches
— Chair backs with arms or chair backs larger than a single seat
— Artificial noisemakers (whistles, bells, air horns)
— Video equipment, tape recorders, cameras with lenses longer than 6 inches
— Sticks, poles, flags or signs
— Laser pointers
— Laptops
— Pets
— Strollers
— Personal transportation devices (skateboards, hover boards, etc.)
— Beach balls or other airborne objects
— Unmanned aircraft systems, or drones, flying in the airspace above Doak Campbell Stadium.
“Additional items may be prohibited at the discretion of the law enforcement officials as dictated by increased threat conditions,” the release says.
The clear bag policy “will provide a safer environment at Doak and is in line with what NFL stadiums are doing nationwide,” FSU spokeswoman Kara Irby said.
