Val Demings announces ‘listening tour’ in CD 10 race

Val Demings

Democratic congressional nominee Val Demings is embarking on a seven-stop “listening tour” with town halls set throughout Florida’s 10th Congressional District in west Orange County, her campaign announced Thursday.

Three stops in her tour, which she calls “Lift Every Voice,” have been announced. She’ll appear at Pine Hills Community Church next Tuesday evening; the Callahan Neighborhood Center in Parramore next Wednesday evening; and the Apopka VFW Lodge on the evening of Oct. 12. All three events run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Demings faces Republican congressional nominee Thuy Lowe in the Nov. 8 general election.

“The concerns of the people of District 10 matter to me,” Demings stated in a news release. “As police chief, I made it a priority to include the community in solving some of our toughest challenges. I want to hear from them and work together to develop solutions, based on each community’s needs.”

Future stops are planned for Eatonville, Dr. Phillips, Tangelo Park, and Washington Shores. All of the town halls are open to the public.
