Republican nominee Dean Asher has won the endorsement of the Florida Medical Association PAC in his bid for the Florida Senate District 13 seat.
“In the next few years, the Legislature will be making many far-reaching decisions regarding healthcare in Florida. It is critical that we have lawmakers who have a strong business background and who are fully committed to protecting the doctor-patient relationship. That’s why Dean Asher has earned our endorsement,” Chris Pittman, president of the Florida Medical Association Political Action Committee stated in a news release issued Friday by Asher’s campaign.
Asher, an Orlando Realtor, faces Democratic nominee Linda Stewart, a former state representative and former county commissioner, in the Nov. 8 general election.
“I’m honored to receive the support of the medical professionals who save lives every day,” Asher stated in the release. “Healthcare in this country, unfortunately, is becoming more and more complicated with federal and state regulations. As the next state senator from District 13, I pledge to protect the doctor-patient relationship as we search for ways to make medical care more accessible and affordable to more people.”
This is Asher’s second endorsement from the medical community. He was also endorsed by the Association of Independent Doctors.
