Miguel Diaz de la Portilla raised more than $28,000 in the first half of September, outraising his Senate District 37 opponent.
State records show the Diaz de la Portilla campaign raised $28,607 between Sept. 3 and Sept. 16. Records show the Diaz de la Portilla’s campaign received $170,635 worth of in-kind contributions from the Florida Republican Senatorial Committee, including $167,847 for staffing.
Other donors during to Diaz de la Portilla’s campaign included political committees Citizens for Fiscal Leadership, Foundation for Freedom and Florida Justice PC. All of those organizations gave $1,000
The campaign spent $48,860 during the same time frame, including $29,448 for advertising. The campaign has raised $663,942, and ended the reporting period with $400,317 cash on hand
Foundation for Human Values, the Miami Republican’s political committee, raised $7,500 during the same time period. It spent $9,581 during the two-week period. State records show the Foundation for Human Values had $208,576 cash on hand as of Sept. 16.
Diaz de la Portilla faces Democrat Jose Javier Rodriguez in the Nov. 8 general election. Rodriguez is forgoing a re-election bid to run in Senate District 37.
State records show Rodriguez raised $19,209 during the two-week period. The campaign spent $51,504 in the same time frame, including $30,400 for media placement.
Rodriguez has raised $301,384 and ended the fundraising period with $131,431 cash on hand.
