The Florida Supreme Court says it will “issue retroactive orders extending filing deadlines” because of courthouse closures as Hurricane Matthew approaches the state.

Those orders will appear on the court’s website.

As of Thursday morning, courts were closed in 29 of the state’s 67 counties, with more expected to shut down. A full list is here.

Four of the state’s five District Courts of Appeal also have been closed, with the Tallahassee-based 1st District the only one still open for business.

The Supreme Court itself, also in Tallahassee, is still open as of Thursday morning.

For those with questions, call the Court’s emergency hotline at 850-921-8552 or email <[email protected]>.
