With state Rep. Bill Hager, barred from seeking re-election because of term limits, another Republican candidate has taken the first step toward trying to succeed him in the Florida House of Representatives.
Thomas “Tommy” Zeichman, a business attorney and son of a law enforcement officer, filed paperwork with the Division of Elections to run in Palm Beach County’s House District 89.
Zeichman joins fellow Republicans Matt Spritz and Democrat Ryan Rossi in the race.
“Our next representative from District 89 needs to understand our community, have deep roots in our community, and put our community first,” Zeichman stated in a release. “As your voice in Tallahassee, I will make sure our state’s decisions are made in the best interest of Florida’s residents and the small businesses that drive our economy, not by insider politics.”
Zeichman was born and raised in Palm Beach County and has four generations of family living in Palm Beach County. The son of a law enforcement officer, says he learned about the importance of serving the community at an early age.
A business attorney with the firm Marshall Socarras Grant in Boca Raton, Zeichman is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell and recognized by Florida Super Lawyers as a Rising Star. Among other professional accomplishments, he co-authored a brief for a case before the Supreme Court of the United States.
