Jamey Moody files to run for Hillsborough Circuit Court Judge

Tampa attorney Jamey Moody, the son of Federal Judge James S. Moody and brother of Republican attorney general candidate Ashley Moody, has filed for the Hillsborough County 13th Circuit Court Group 25 race next year.

Moody received an undergraduate and J.D. from the University of Florida and was named a member of Super Lawyers Rising Stars from 2011-2014. He currently practices for the Tampa-based Jayson Farthing Skafidas Wright law firm, specializing in personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, and premise liability.

According to a news release, Moody is a member of the Federalist Society, a group described by Jeffrey Toobin of the New Yorker as an enormously influential nationwide organization of conservative lawyers founded in 1982 and based in Washington.

Other candidates in the race include Cissy Boza Sevelin, Starr Brookins and Robin Fuson.
