Former state Rep. Jose Felix “Pepi” Diaz remains at Ballard Partners, but has taken a second position at the law firm of Panza, Maurer & Maynard, the firm announced.
Diaz, executive vice president at Ballard’s lobbying firm, also will be a partner in the law firm’s Coral Gables office. Headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, the firm also has an office in Tallahassee.
“Having a new partner of Pepi’s stature and expertise is a boon to our law firm, especially as we expand our services in Miami-Dade and continue our work in the state capital,” Panza Maurer founding partner Thomas F. Panza said in a statement.
“His leadership skills combined with legal experience are valuable assets that we seek in our legal professionals.”
Don’t be too surprised: Ballard Partners president Brian Ballard has been a member of Panza Maurer for the last 15 years.
“Diaz will represent clients in complex matters involving contract procurement, zoning, litigation, energy and utilities, government relations and comprehensive planning,” a press release said.
Diaz, who served in the House for seven years, was previously with the Akerman law firm.
