Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark’s office said it mailed out 58,537 ballots to domestic voters Tuesday, five weeks out from municipal Election Day.
The ballots mailed Tuesday went out to voters who had requested a mail ballot for the March 13 election, but the supervisors’ office said those looking to vote by mail have until March 7 to request a mail ballot, and if they drop by the office they can grab one as late as March 12.
Tuesday’s mass mailing follows the 757 ballots that were sent out to military and overseas voters on Jan. 26.
The office advised voters to give their ballots at least a week to make the return trip or, alternately, drop their ballot off at one of the supervisors of elections offices by 7:00 pm on Election Day.
New residents or first-time voters have less than a week to get on the county’s voter roll before the books close on Feb. 12.
More than 20 city commission or city council seats will be up for grabs across a dozen Pinellas County communities on Election Day, including seats in Belleair Beach, Clearwater, Gulfport, Indian Rocks Beach, Kenneth City, Madeira Beach, Redington Beach, Safety Harbor, South Pasadena and Treasure Island.
In addition, the communities of Belleair, Indian Rocks Beach, Kenneth City, Pinellas Park and Treasure Island will hold mayoral elections.
More details on the offices slated for the March ballot, including sample ballots for each municipality, can be found via the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections website.
