Hillsborough County Commission candidate Aakash Patel is holding a fundraiser in St. Petersburg on April 17.
The event will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Parks & Rec, 100 4th St. South. Those looking to attend can RSVP by visiting the events page on Patel’s campaign website.
The invite lists 10 names on the host committee: Paul Auslander, Brady Diggs, Steve Gianfilippo, Ashby Green, Tyler and Erin Hayden, Doug “DJ Fresh” Hensel, Greg Holden, Derek Houston, Wade Milligan, Johnathan Stanton, Amanda Taylor and Cal Webster.
The suggested donation is set at $25 with those donating $100 getting a spot on the host committee.
Patel, a Tampa Republican, is one of three candidates running to replace Commissioner Sandy Murman, who is expected to leave her District 1 seat to run for the countywide District 7 post in 2018.
He faces fellow Republican C. Todd Marks and Democratic Rep. Janet Cruz, who may leave the race to challenge Republican Sen. Dana Young in Senate District 18.
Patel is leading the pack in fundraising, with more than $400,000 raised since he entered the race.
