The Northeast Florida Builders’ Association released a raft of endorsements for state House and Senate Thursday, choosing incumbents in every regional race but two.
NEFBA went with a Democratic primary challenger, Paula Wright, over incumbent Kim Daniels in House District 14. This could boost Wright’s insurgent bid, one where Daniels has a 10-1 cash on hand advantage (Wright has less than $3,000 on hand as of the report filed last week).
The builders’ group went with Republican Wyman Duggan in HD 15.
Among the GOP field, Duggan is well-ahead in the money race. As of the July 13 finance report, he had almost $123,000 on hand, with opponents Mark Zeigler ($32,482 on hand) and Joseph Hogan ($12,537) well behind.
Duggan also is already up on television.
The HD 15 race will come down to one Republican against Tracye Polson, who at this writing has a slight fundraising edge over Duggan.
The following House incumbents got the NEFBA nod: Cord Byrd, HD 11; Clay Yarborough, HD 12; Tracie Davis, HD 13; Jason Fischer, HD 16; Travis Cummings, HD 18; Bobby Payne, HD 19; and Paul Renner, HD 24.
Additionally, incumbent Senators Aaron Bean and Audrey Gibson got endorsements from the group.
