Indivisible latest national progressive group to back Andrew Gillum for Governor

Gillum Indivisible

Tuesday in Tampa, the Indivisible Project endorsed Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum for Florida Governor.

Gillum, a Democrat, has gotten the support of progressive billionaires George Soros and Tom Steyer and his NextGen America.

Leah Greenberg, the co-founder of the Indivisible Project, was on hand with national political director Maria Urbina to confer the endorsement.

The local Tampa chapter of Indivisible will be canvassing on behalf of Gillum starting this weekend, a speaker said.

Greenberg described the need to advance a “bold vision of the future” as a reason for backing Gillum, noting he was the choice of the vast majority of Indivisible members in the state, as she went through many of his campaign talking points, including being a non-millionaire and bucking the National Rifle Association.

“We are so excited at a national level to be supporting the grassroots enthusiasm [behind Gillum],” Greenberg said.

“Some people say this thing is not possible,” Gillum said, adding that those people are “underestimating the grassroots power in this state.”

“People are fired up,” Gillum said. “I am extremely humbled and extremely proud to be carrying the banner of Indivisible.”

“Money doesn’t vote, people do,” Gillum said, stressing his belief that grassroots organizing can position him to win what he has said is a tight five-way primary battle.

“I will wear this endorsement as a badge of honor,” Gillum added.

Gillum has not been anywhere near the top in fundraising. But his crowd enthusiasm and size has arguably been the strongest in the Democratic field.

Now, the question: does grassroots appeal translate to a path to victory in 2018’s Democratic primary?

We 300 000 would love to vote for Gwen Green. Her site is PeopleFriendly and Woman-girlFriendly.

Wonder why she continues to ignore the surging campaign to Pass the Equal Rights AMendment by not clarifying her support of its passage to make Sex Discrimination right there, on her site.
This Amendment is the Cure for discrimination against male as well as female, just that females Take the Brunt of discrimination. NOT about women in the military, abortion, same-sex or unisex restrooms–this US Constitutional Amendment will simply guarantee equal treatment of males and females in America. Nothing wrong with That, right?

A wonderful spin-off would be its 15% Gross Domestic Product boost already experienced by other nations when they codified similar language! AND, this Amendment uniquely requires NO FUNDING. Income taxes can markedly decline due to lower government costs for Public Assistance, Medicaid, food stamps and More, as families move Out of Poverty! SO SAY RESPECTED ECONOMISTS!

Others point to studies showing increased marital harmony and fewer divorces.
The IMF (Mme. LeGarde), the UN, the EU and the OECD all heartily agree.
What are you waiting for by not publicly endorsing the Equal Rights AMendment, Ms. Graham? Please show your hand on your site re this Amendment. Please?
