Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jeff Greene is hitting the road Saturday for the start of an eight-day, 15-stop bus tour of the Florida Peninsula.
Greene is kicking off his “Fighting for Florida” bus tour Saturday in Palm Beach County, then heading to Orange County for appearances on Saturday and Sunday. Details of the locations and times of the appearances are not yet available.
His bus tour then takes him Northeast Florida, Tampa Bay, back to Central Florida, and then back to South Florida, ending Sunday, August 5, in Broward County.
Greene has made spot appearances here and there since filing to run for governor in early June but this will be his first concerted string of public appearances for his campaign. In the Aug. 28 primary, he faces Gwen Graham, Philip Levine, Andrew Gillum, and Chris King, while the Republicans are fielding Ron DeSantis and Adam Putnam.
The tour will consist of rallies, town hall meetings, and community events.
“There is nothing more important than meeting voters in their own communities,” Greene states in a news release issued by his campaign. “This tour is as much about listening to voters as it is about them hearing from me. I look forward to continuing the conversations we’ve started in communities across the state as we fight for a better future for Florida.”
As part of the tour, Greene also will be donating thousands of backpacks to help children in need across the state, his campaign stated.
