House Democratic Leader Kionne McGhee of Miami has named four Democratic legislators as co-chairs of the Democratic Caucus policy team.
The policy team will consist of state Reps. Evan Jenne (House District 99), Kamia Brown (HD 45), Bobby DuBose (HD 94), and Amy Mercado (HD 48), according to a Friday news release.
“Equipped with such diverse expertise and unifying spirits, our dedicated co-chairs are poised to become the necessary backbone of our core policies,” McGhee said in a statement.
“From expanding access to health care, investing in our future through equitable education and the defense of our environment, I am positive that this team will be instrumental in our fight for Florida’s hard-working families.
“We are eager for our newly appointed members to take the helm and guide this state towards a renewed vision of fairness and prosperity.”
The policy team co-chairs will be responsible for setting the policy directive for the Democratic Caucus as well as for scheduling the meetings of the Policy Committee and coordinate Policy Subcommittee meetings, the release said.
