The Florida Retail Federation, the state’s trade association for retailers for over 80 years, hired Grace Lovett as its new Vice President of Government Affairs.
Moreover, the group promoted current staff member Jake Farmer to Director of Government Affairs.
“Grace has the experience, expertise and character needed to represent Florida’s retail industry,” FRF President/CEO R. Scott Shalley said in a statement.
“With Grace leading our Government Affairs team, combined with the promotion of Jake to Director and his expanded responsibilities, I feel FRF is strongly positioned to support, protect and defend Florida’s 270,000 retailers and ensure our industry remains successful.”
Lovett joins FRF after serving as the Director of Legislative Affairs for the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for the past eight years, “where she helped create and guide an agency budget of more than $1.7 billion and 3,600 employees,” according to a press release.
Farmer’s title of Director of Government Affairs “recognizes the significant progress he’s made in leading some of FRF’s strategic legislative initiatives, and the key role he’ll play in working with senior leadership and legislators each year,” the release added.
