Florida Medical Association PAC (FMA PAC) is endorsing Republican Mike Davis today in his bid for the House District 17 special election.
In giving its support, FMA PAC President Dr. Ralph Nobo cited Davis’ understanding the importance of health care as the third-generation small business owner of A.D. Davis Construction in St. Augustine.
“As a small business owner, Mike Davis understands that physicians face many of the same barriers when it comes to government red tape,” said Nobo. “Davis will be a strong advocate as we push for measures to improve the delivery of health care to Floridians, and we are proud to endorse his candidacy for House District 17.”
Ponte Vedra Beach Republican Rep. Ron “Doc” Renuart currently represents District 17, which covers St. Augustine through the southern border of Duval County. Renuart is leaving the seat to campaign in the special election for John Thrasher’s Senate District 6.
“I look forward to working with them to make sure medical professionals continue to grow and thrive in the Sunshine State,” Davis said.
Davis faces Republicans John R. “Jack” Capra and Cyndi Stevenson in the GOP special primary on Jan. 27. The winner will face write-in candidate Mary Anne Boczek and No Party Affiliation candidate Judy Stevens on April 7.
