The President is still underwater though.

As Democrats joust for the 2020 Presidential nomination, the incumbent is enjoying somewhat improved numbers in a new poll.

President Donald Trump’s approval rating among Florida voters rose to 44 percent in the latest poll from Florida Atlantic University.

That’s a three-point jump from the previous FAU poll, but Trump is still underwater, with 45 percent disapproval.

Trump enjoys a 71-19 split with Republicans. With Democrats, the numbers reverse: 21-73. The President is slightly underwater (37-39) with independent voters.

The survey asked if the President was responsible for an uptick in hate crimes. Fifty-five percent of those polled believe he bears some responsibility.

The FAU survey assumes a D +1 universe of voters. 38 percent of respondents were Democrat, 37 percent Republican, and 24 percent of other registrations.

500 registered voters were polled via autodial between March 22 and 24. The survey has a margin of error of 4.3 percentage points.
