‘More poignant than ever’: Donald Trump campaign talks Juneteenth
Donald Trump is at his peak in popularity, but is still disliked by the majority of voters.

President Donald Trump launched his campaign Tuesday night at the Amway Center in Orlando.

While the President did not address Juneteenth, a commemoration of the day slavery was abolished, at that event, his campaign did offer a statement Wednesday.

Dr. Alveda King, a member of the Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. Advisory Board, said the holiday was “more poignant than ever today thanks to the leadership of President Trump.”

“His policies have provided for record-low unemployment, criminal justice reform, heightened quality of life, opportunity zones, and the elimination of small business regulations, enabling freedom and prosperity for our communities across the country like never before,” Dr. King added.

The King statement dropped Wednesday afternoon, while Trump was in Miami for a $250,000-a-person Trump Victory fundraiser at the Trump National Doral.

The incumbent is aggressively fundraising already. He raised over $30 million in Q1, and had $41.3 million on hand as of the end of March. Before the rally in Orlando, he also held a fundraiser in that city.

The President raised nearly $25 million in his first 24 hours as an “official candidate,” per Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel.

Trump, if a recent survey by St. Pete Polls is any indication, will be in for a close re-election in Florida.

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has a 0.5 percentage point lead in Florida in a hypothetical 2020 matchup against President Donald Trump.

Biden has led the field so far in polling during the early portion of the Democratic primary.

The former two-term Vice President and longtime Senator has been pegged by some election watchers as one of the Democrats’ best bets to defeat Trump in Rust Belt states such as Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. Trump won all those states on the way to a victory in 2016.

The 47.3 to 46.9 percent contradicts a Quinnipiac poll released Tuesday, which had Biden ahead of Trump by nine in Florida.

    Frankly, my dear, I’m totally sick of Donald Trump and his “Umpteenth” and excruciatingly juvenile pep rallies! Are there any adults among the TrumpNuts?

    @A.G. Gancarski

    Your story here is great example of Democrat media. An 8 year old can see the bias.

    I bet you and those like you have a hard time feeling good about yourselves.
