Five First Coast counties amassed more than 3,000 cases of coronavirus for the first time Tuesday.
The Florida Department of Health’s COVID-19 dashboard showed there were 3,016 total cases of the illness in Duval, Clay, Baker, Nassau and St. Johns Counties combined.
The number of deaths in the five-county Northeast Florida region also exceeded 100 for the first time, coming in at 102. Meanwhile 489 people have been hospitalized with the illness on the First Coast.
Jacksonville surpassed the 2,000 mark this week as Duval County stood at 2,112 total cases as of Tuesday. Jacksonville also had 318 people who’ve been hospitalized and 59 people who’ve died from COVID-19.
Clay County had a total 443 cases with 32 people dying and 96 hospitalized.
St. Johns County recorded 33 cases and six deaths along with 47 hospitalizations.
Nassau County saw 94 people infected with COVID-19 as of Tuesday. Nassau still has maintained the least number of deaths in Northeast Florida at just one. Sixteen people have been hospitalized with the virus in Nassau County.
Baker County recorded 34 total cases with four deaths and 12 hospitalizations.
Statewide 80,109 tested positive to date with 2,993 deaths and 12,206 hospitalizations.
