Video shows conspiracy theorist Marjorie Taylor Greene hounding David Hogg, calling him a ‘coward’
David Hogg gets 'swatted.'

In the recording, Greene follows Hogg — a Parkland shooting survivor — through D.C. while criticizing his advocacy.

New video shows now-Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Georgia Republican, following Parkland survivor David Hogg through the streets of D.C., calling him a “coward” and criticizing him for his push on reform.

The 2018 attack at Stoneman Douglas High School killed 17 people and injured 17 more. Following that attack, Florida lawmakers approved gun control legislation, which included so-called “red flag” provisions. Those provisions allow certain officials to petition a court, asking to bar dangerous individuals from accessing weapons.

It’s unclear when the video was recorded. But it shows Greene following Hogg while lobbing questions his way aimed at undercutting his push for increased gun control.

“Why are you supporting red flag gun laws that attack our Second Amendment rights?” Greene asked in a video uploaded to her own YouTube account last year, prior to winning a U.S. House seat.

“If Scot Peterson, the resource officer at Parkland, had done his job, then Nikolas Cruz wouldn’t have killed anybody in your high school,” Greene said, falsely.

While Peterson earned widespread criticism for failing to confront the shooter, he couldn’t have prevented the attack altogether, though it’s possible he could have stopped Cruz during the attack.

“Why are you using kids as a barrier?” she said to Hogg. “Do you not know how to defend your stance?”

It’s unclear what Greene means by implying Hogg was “using kids as a barrier.” If she’s unaware why Hogg references his multiple classmates who were killed during the attack, it’s because he had multiple classmates who were killed during the attack. Talking about those victims, and the impact on a community, is common practice when discussing potential policy changes, such as in the aftermath of 9/11 or following the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

But Greene has also delved into darker conspiracy theories regarding the Parkland shooting. She’s promoted lies that the attack was a “false flag,” or pre-planned attack. She also backed false claims regarding the Parkland attack and other mass shootings. A Facebook commenter wrote, “none of the school shootings were real or done by the ones who were supposedly arrested for them.” Greene liked that post, full of other conspiratorial nonsense, adding “That is all true.”

She continued hounding Hogg during the 2018 video.

“You are using your lobby, and the money behind it, and the kids to try to take away my Second Amendment rights,” she asserted. “You don’t have anything to say for yourself? You can’t defend your stance?

Greene took Hogg’s refusal to respond to her disingenuous line of questioning and twisted that into Hogg not being able to defend himself. Hogg declined to respond to Greene throughout the video.

Greene then further delved into conspiratorial talk regarding Hogg’s meetings with U.S. senators that day.

“How did you get over 30 appointments with senators?” Greene asked. “How’d you do that? How did you get major press coverage on this issue?”

She then returned to the claim Hogg is “using kids.”

“Why do you use kids?” Greene asked. “Why kids?”

She also attacked Hogg for pushing policies backed by major gun control organizations, before herself pushing a talking point backed by the National Rifle Association.

“The best way to stop a bad guy with a gun is with a good guy with a gun,” Greene asserted, challenging the need for more gun reforms.

After the episode, Greene addressed the camera.

“He has nothing to say because he is paid to do this,” Greene asserted. She then pivoted back to Hogg’s meetings with Senators, bemoaning the fact that no one took a meeting with her.

“I got to talk to none. None. He had media coverage all over the place. I had zero. Guess what? I’m a gun owner, I’m an American citizen, and I have nothing. But this guy, with his George Soros funding, and his major liberal funding, has got everything,” Greene said of Hogg, who had survived the deadly attack.

She added of Hogg, “He’s a coward. He can’t say one word because he can’t defend his stance.”

Greene has offered shaky explanations of her controversial social media comments in the past.

“Over the years, I’ve had teams of people manage my pages,” Greene said, without evidence. “Many posts have been liked. Many posts have been shared. Some did not represent my views.”

But the video shows Greene in her own words lobbing similar accusations at Hogg. Hogg responded to some of Greene’s remarks after the video resurfaced.

“For the 8 millionth time [c]ould someone PLEASE tell me where the ‘millions’ I’ve been ‘paid’ by Soros is? I’d love to have the rest of college and if I go, grad or law school paid for, a nice place for my parents and therapy paid for the rest of my life,” Hogg said. “I’ve never gotten a dime from Soros.”

He added, “You think we want to be doing this?” in a question directed at Greene. “Fuck no — I’d much rather be able to be a college student but I [and] others can’t [and] you know why? [Because] corrupt politicians like you have made it so it’s on the survivors of gun violence to end gun violence [because] you can’t do your damn job.”

Greene is white trash trying to be noticed. I am surprised that she did not call the Parkland murders a hoax.

I support the Second Amendment. I believe any American not in prison or on parole should be able to freely buy and register a handgun; —no permit necessary.
    HOWEVER;
PLEASE, Ms. Greene do NOT advocate for us, dear lord what kool-aide are you drinking?! That man was walking as a private citizen down the street and you were HARASSING HIM! Further, you made it clear that you are a gun owner; —this can be seen easily AS A DIRECT THREAT.
You chose the WRONG FORUM (i.e. the public street), and now you appear to be a LOONY-TUNE. —I mean, a full-goose NUT-JOB! Just in case you do not understand how your behaviour looks to a 2nd Amendment supporter, it looks embarrassing and shameful. REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE, A Congressional Representative of The United States of America. Behave like one!

Greene is just another example of of a lying extremist republican. They all cried that Obama would take guns away from people, and it never happened. Sensible gun control legislation has nothing to do with taking legally owned guns away from anyone. Anyone politician that is against safeguards to make sure that guns will only wind up in the hands of responsible law abiding citizens with a clean background and are not of a violent history of prior felonies shouldn’t themselves be holding office. There is a big difference between a politician that is educated, and one that has been indoctrinated by their party. Greene falls in the latter category. Votes means more than lives to politicians such as her. The people spoke in Nov, and she isn’t listening.
