Marco Rubio ad labels Val Demings a ‘blame America first radical rubber stamp’

Val Demings
The GOP incumbent just kicked off a seven-figure ad buy.

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio went on the offensive with a new TV ad targeting Democratic opponent Val Demings.

A 30-second spot slams the freshly minted Democratic nominee for her voting record and comments supportive of Black Lives Matters protestors. The ad puts on screen many interview soundbites for which Rubio has criticized Demings for months.

The launch of the advertisement comes after Rubio booked more than $1.3 million in airtime starting Wednesday.

The spot opens by tying the Orlando Democrat to Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

“Val Demings votes 100% with Pelosi,” the ad states, citing ProPublica information from Demings’ first two terms in Congress.

A narrator then states: “Demings praised defunding the police.”

Demings notably has pushed back on the characterization, even condemning the slogan, used by some progressive groups, as “crazy” in her own ads.

Rubio’s campaign has stood by its characterization and shows footage from a CBS News interview given by Demings in 2020 where Demings declines to criticize the Minneapolis City Council for dismantling its police department. The move was cited by those calling to “defund the police” as an example of sound reform. Demings in the interview states “The Council is being very thoughtful.”

The ad also more than once uses a clip of Demings stating “America has failed,” an excerpt from an interview on The Ellen Show after the death of George Floyd. The incident, which resulted in the conviction of a police officer on a murder charge, sparked mass protests nationwide, some of which descended into riots.

The ad also snaps a clip of Demings and runs it alongside video of riots, with Demings saying: “I thought it was a beautiful sight.”

Demings notably would be Florida’s first Black Senator, and has run on her own law enforcement background as an Orlando Police Chief.

The Rubio ad also paints the Democrat as dismissive of border security. “The crisis at the border is nothing new,” she says in another clip.

Ultimately, the ad brands Demings as “another blame America first radical rubber stamp.”

Demings slammed the advertisement and suggested opening the general election cycle with an attack ad reaked of fear.

“Marco Rubio is terrified of Chief Demings’ growing momentum in this race, and he’s continuing to tell desperate lies,” Demings said. “His lies can’t distract from the fact that this race is about one thing: a choice between a career politician who doesn’t show up for work and a 27-year law enforcement officer with a proven record of delivering for Florida. Chief Demings has always been laser-focused on keeping our communities safe and lowering costs for Florida’s families, and she’ll continue to show up for Floridians in the U.S. Senate.”

Rubio’s campaign team made clear it will keep scrutiny up from now until the November General Election.

“In her six years in Washington, Val Demings has proven that she’ll always side with the radical liberals who blame America first instead of with the people of Florida. Come November, Floridians will reject Demings’ pro-Defund the Police, open borders agenda and re-elect Marco Rubio,” said Rubio communications director Elizabeth Gregory.

Wear that Joe Biden badge proudly Val. Your congressional votes will be made public and you will have to defend the worst administration since Jimmy Carter. The commercials should be great entertainment.

You’ll still be a loser either way, And all Congressional votes are a matter of public record, you’d know this if you were an American.

Why aren’t we talking about how Rubio wants to dismantle Social Security and Medicare? Does he want to create a huge class of homeless retirees living on insufficient fixed incomes?

Defund the police unions so we can get at the TRUTH involving police violence.

Let’s not pretend for a second that Republican’s complicit behavior January 6th and the follow-up skewering of the Congressional investigation has anything to do with support for America’s men in blue. There are photos of Rubio’s supporters slugging police with the poles holding the American flag. Five police officers died as a result of January 6th and Rubio didn’t apologize or attend a single funeral.

If anyone should be labeled “blame America First” it should be Marco Rubio who refused to hold coup leader Donald Trump responsible for January 6th and hiding over 300 classified documents at Mar-a-Lago!

Rube just shovels $$ to his rich masters and freeloading corporate owners— taking away their self-respect and trapping them in a humiliating dependency on hard working American taxpayers.

It doesn’t have to be that way. Val Demings brings change for America’s middle class and for giving the wealthy and big corporations the opportunity to pay their fair share and return to the principles that made our country great. Val will work hard to break the destructive cycle of corporate welfare that incentives big corporations to reward their rich shareholders at the expense of the American economy. Vote for Demings to help big business get back to work —for us all!

What a bunch of crock from you tards!

I’ve forewarned you all, 39% Biden approval in Florida per Civiqs and 100% Pelosi ass kissing, don’t get you 51% in Florida.

Is Dumings still looking for her gun? What a joke.

Rubio is the very best” legislator” in the Senate.
    Second to none in Congress.

    Enjoy you losers!

I thought I could find a balanced journalistic view of the mentioned commercials. You can prove anything using soundbites, just like you can prove anything using the Bible. I’m trying to ascertain who is the best for my vote to improve the country, not party.
