Navy Lt. Saree Moreno, a Tampa native, is one of several military members supporting the flyover planned during the singing of the National Anthem at Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona.
Moreno is a member of Strike Fighter Squadron 122, which will operate two F/A-18F Super Hornets from its “Flying Eagles” during the flyover.
Moreno graduated from the Academy of the Holy Names in 2010 and from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2014.
Moreno said her roots in Tampa helped instill the skills and values necessary to succeed in the military.
“The importance of hard work has stuck with me throughout my life and was instilled in me by all my teachers in high school at the Academy of the Holy Names,” Moreno said. “They taught me to be true to myself and to work hard, and if I did that I would be able to achieve anything.”
The Academy of the Holy Names is a college preparatory school in South Tampa.
Moreno joined the Navy nine years ago.
“I was inspired by my cousin in the Army to join the military,” he said. “I joined the Navy to fly F/A-18 Super Hornets.”
“Being in the Navy allows me to serve my country with some of the hardest working people in the military has to offer,” Moreno added. “The Navy is exactly what it claims to be, ‘Forged by the Sea.’ Our carrier strike groups allow us to provide support throughout the world with relative ease and sets us apart from the rest of the military branches in the United States.”
In addition to the “Flying Eagles’” Super Hornets, the Super Bowl flyover will also include an F-35C Lightning II from Strike Fighter Squadron 147 and an EA-18G Growler from Electronic Attack Squadron 129.
This year’s Super Bowl features the Kansas City Chiefs against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Arizona State Govorner should have their State National Guard up in the air to protect the venue prior to and after the game. I would be hesitant to rely on the Biden Administration to perform such a vital task.
