President Donald Trump is striking a blow against a law passed when George Herbert Walker Bush was President.
“Water conservation requirements for faucets, showers, bathtubs, and toilets — promulgated by the Department of Energy pursuant to the Energy Policy Act of 1992 (Public Law 102-486) — make bathroom appliances more expensive and less functional. “Efficiency” standards render other American appliances like clothes washers and dishwashers less useful, more breakable, and more expensive to repair. The Federal Government should not impose or enforce regulations that make taxpayers’ lives worse,” Trump said in an executive order Friday.
In a fight against what he calls “unnecessary radical green agenda policies,” Trump is changing policy regarding “water and energy use in dishwashers … water use in faucets … water use in showerheads … water use in water closets … and water use in urinals.”
Trump also calls on “the Secretary of Energy to publish in the Federal Register a notice clarifying the Waiver of Federal Preemption of State regulations covered by the application of ‘Energy Efficiency Program for Consumer Products: Waiver of Federal Preemption of State Regulations Concerning the Water Use or Water Efficiency of Showerheads, Faucets, Water Closets and Urinals.'”

Trump has probably never paid a water bill in his life, but each year water becomes scarcer and more dear.
But, who are we to deny Trump a free-flowing shower head?

Trump has never spent time in Western states where water is scarce, or as MH says, he’s never paid a water bill. Conservation and conserving natural resources is a fact of life in places where water is a scarce resource.
Here in Florida, our main source of drinking water (90%) is the Florida Aquifer, which is under serious threat due to rising sea levels (bringing saltwater into once pristine springs), overpopulation, overpumping, and shrinking water table levels. Think we won’t face a water crisis here? Think again.
It’s just pure ignorance and idiocy to rally against energy efficiency and conservation of precious natural resources. And stupidly expensive. But billionaires don’t concern themselves with utility bills or pencils.

What is the evidence that these water conservation policies and devices are “useless”? Not that that would matter to this President. This is just another example of something that Trump finds personally annoying, or he just doesn’t like in general (in this case, not getting sufficient water to rinse his “beautiful hair” (as he calls it), or paper straws (“They don’t work!”) are turned immediately into yet another Executive Order. Never mind the environment, impact on wildlife or whatever. If it displeases His Highness, it is history. Only he matters.

Who is your headline writer? Since written in 1787 the Constitution has never permitted presidents to unilaterally “roll back” laws. C’’Mon. What is wrong with a little accuracy and use “regs” instead?

Note: Trump declared a state of emergency on Day one and has not let up since with a flood of dubious executive orders that subvert established law and the Constitution. Are you good with this?

What you just said. Trump is the little boy that keeps crying wolf. Of course it’s also been widely reported that his supporters universally have one thing in common. Extremely poorly educated. The man spends more time begging for money than the homeless, and when suckers line up to hand it over, why’d he spend his own money when he can splash around theirs? I almost feel sorry for them.

What’s not accurate here? The headline uses the phrase “Trump issues edict.” The third line of the article states, “President Donald Trump is striking a blow against a law…”, and that law is identified on lines six and seven, “the Energy Policy Act of 1992 (Public Law 102-486)”.
Further, “roll back” is defined as “to reduce (something, such as a commodity price) to or toward a previous level on a national scale.” In Trump’s case, he wants the old shower heads back on a national scale, apparently — a most important undertaking for the President of the United States.

Good luck finding the old wasteful shower head in the US. Maybe online?

I, Earl Pitts American, agree with 47 on these “GREEN NEW STEAL” water mandates.
“ELIMINATE THEM”, said Earl.
Thank you,

Sure. Remove the conservation. Watch how fast water runs out. I wonder what lies his lap dogs will be pushing.

No need to be alarmed about water conservation standards. The standards will be restored exactly as they were just as soon as President Turnip Truck gets whatever ransom he’s calculated can be had via extorting the folks interested in water conservation.
Don’t tell me I’m the only one around here who can see what the man is doing plain as day: “Withdraw and Withhold; Wait (for the bribe); Restore what was withdrawn and withheld”
So how’s it going for the majority of Trump voters now that he doesn’t require another vote from them when the only thing they had of any value to him was their final vote for him? Has he forgotten all about you like I predicted?
LOL. Day One. He forgot y’all on Day One. How does it feel? Does it burn a little? I sure hope so, considering how that foo’ is burning this country to the ground for the exclusive purpose of his personal gain.

Here in Florida there seems to always be some sort of “water shortage emergency” waiting to happen requiring restrictions on our usage of water — yet they keep passing out building permits like Halloween candy all over the state. There are billions and billions of gallons of water belching out of the ground in the springs all over Florida every day that are not being used. People are tired of being told how and when they can use the water so that the uncontrolled development/destruction of our state can continue.
