On Thursday, Gov. Rick Scott announced five appointments and four reappointments to a variety of state regulatory boards.
Florida Commission on Human Relations
Scott started with the announcement of three appointments to the Florida Commission on Human Relations, which seeks to prevent unlawful discrimination and ensure the fair treatment of Florida residents, as well as access to employment opportunities, housing and certain public accommodations.
Jeff Graber, 39, of Longwood, is the president of Alexander Aviation Associates Inc. He succeeds Elena Flom for a term ending Sept. 30, 2015.
Jay Pichard, 47, of Tallahassee, is the owner of Pichard Holdings LLC. He succeeds Gayle Cannon for a term beginning Sept. 30, 2016.
Sandra Turner, 62, of Winter Springs, is the ERPA president of Retirement Plan Specialists Inc. She fills a vacant seat for a term ending Sept. 30, 2017.
The three appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
Scott next appointed Harvey Partridge to the Board of Veterinary Medicine, which is responsible for licensing and regulating veterinarians
Partridge, 68, of Terra Ceia, is a veterinarian with Partridge Animal Hospital. He succeeds Robert O’Neil and for a term ending Oct. 31, 2018.
His appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
Early Learning Coalition of Escambia County
Scott appointed Drew Hardgrave to the Early Learning Coalition of Escambia County.
Hardgrave, 31, of Cantonment, is an insurance agent with Hiles McLeod Insurance. He fills a vacant seat for a term ending April 30, 2016.
Board of Chiropractic Medicine
Scott reappointed Christopher J. Fox and Kevin Fogarty to the Board of Chiropractic Medicine, for terms ending Oct. 31, 2018. The board is responsible for licensing, monitoring, and ensuring the safe practice of chiropractic physicians practicing in the state.
Fox, 46, of West Palm Beach, is a chiropractic physician with Fox Spine & Sports Medicine and an adjunct professor at Palm Beach Atlantic University and Life University.
Fogarty, 54, of Merritt Island, is a chiropractic physician and owner of Fogarty Chiropractic Life Clinic.
Both reappointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel
Finally, Scott reappointed Linda Valdes and Alvaro Hernandez to the Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel, both for terms ending Oct. 31, 2018. The board regulates clinical laboratory directors, supervisors, technologists, blood gas analysts, or technicians who perform or are responsible for laboratory test processes.
Valdes, 44, of Orlando, is the administrative coordinator of regulations and safety for Florida Hospital Laboratories.
Hernandez, 42, of Odessa, is the vice president of commercial sales for Central and North Florida for Humana.
The two reappointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
