Ron DeSantis will co-introduce the Non-Discrimination of Israel in Labeling Act, according to a news release from his office, a response to a Customs and Border Protection policy re-issuance regarding country of origin marking requirements for goods manufactured in the West Bank and Gaza.
The bill will reaffirm the original intent of labeling requirements and defend the right of Israeli producers to label products manufactured in the West Bank as “Israel,” “Made in Israel,” or “Product of Israel.”
“Congress must ensure that Israeli products do not face undue discrimination in our marketplaces and that waging economic warfare against Israel is unacceptable,” DeSantis said. “The Non-Discrimination of Israel in Labeling Act will help to ensure Israeli manufacturers may label their products appropriately and will stymie efforts of those who seek to target Israel through the BDS movement.”
