The campaign of Pensacola Rep. Frank White for Attorney General got a boost Wednesday morning via an endorsement from former hometown U.S. Rep. Jeff Miller.
Miller represented Northwest Florida for 16 years ending this year.
“It’s an honor to endorse Frank White for Attorney General. In Frank,” Miller said, “Florida will be served by an Attorney General with impeccable character and a steadfast commitment to conservative values. I’ve known Frank to be a consistent conservative dedicated to the rule of law, Second Amendment rights, and family values. I look forward to supporting Frank White throughout the campaign.”
“Congressman Miller served the Panhandle, Florida, and the nation with the highest measure of honor, integrity, and patriotism. He is a shining example of conservative leadership,” White said, “and I am humbled to have earned his support.”
Quotes from both Miller and White here lean heavily on the word “conservative” — a key distinction that one might expect White to stress in his primary battle against the leader thus far in the GOP race for cash and endorsements, former Hillsborough Judge Ashley Moody.
Moody, a close ally and friend of incumbent Attorney General Pam Bondi, is facing questions about her own conservative bona fides this week, after Florida Politics took a look at her record of backing liberal politicians and causes early in her career.
