Ron DeSantis vows to defend Floridians against ‘communist’ Zohran Mamdani

Could the mayoral candidate be farther left than a Squad member?

Gov. Ron DeSantis effectively told would-be New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani that he should leave his hammer, sickle, and Communist Manifesto in the Big Apple.

And that he shouldn’t dare to try to take a bite out of Free Enterprise in the Free State of Florida by obstructing businesses that do place both here and in New York.

“We will do whatever we have to defend people against a communist Mayor out of state,” DeSantis warned on Tuesday’s Hannity. “We’re not gonna let him come in and spew his leftism in the free state of Florida.”

Hannity claimed Mamdani had plans to “follow” businesses trying to “flee” from New York to Florida, wondering if Florida could “protect them,” inspiring DeSantis’ protective nature in this context.

DeSantis continues to express pessimism about the Democratic nominee. He claimed Tuesday that the candidate represents a possible “collapse of New York City,” and that Mamdani has “the same line of thinking, probably to the nth degree” as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Speaking of AOC, the Governor took her to task on Hannity, saying she objected to “Alligator Alcatraz” because she was a fan of sanctuary cities.

“She doesn’t believe that illegals should be deported. She thinks you have a right to come into this country illegally, and that if we try to enforce the law that somehow the people enforcing the law are the bad guy,” DeSantis asserted.

    Good morning,
My husband, Earl, says Ron is using this Leftist Tool, NYC Mayoral Wannabee, to bring more law enforcement and prison guards from lefty leaning States and Cities to The Great Free State of Florida.
    Pure Genius Ron,

For a history major, the current governor throws words and fear mongering carelessly. If he actually read and listened to what Mandan is saying – and how it resonates with his constituents in New York – the governor might realize that being a man of the people is something to admire in a mayor.

Our governor’s ‘my way or the highway’ approach does not play well in cities and states where freedom means rights are expanded – as opposed to ‘freedom’ being an empty slogan on billboards that belie the truth.

    _. . .freedom means rights are expanded. . .
In America, freedom has come to mean that rights are not expanded but conjured out of delusions and pipedreams, then forced upon the majority who orient their lives to the polestars of logic and reason. “Globalize intifada”: that is what Mandani is saying. The spoiled child of the urban intellectual class who uses his talents to help no one but himself, Mamdani is the poster child for the future of the American democratic party: conflict that will inevitably grow into the kind of social combat that the East has been seeking for a millennium. Thank God President Trump has identified the cancer and named it.

No, that is NOT what he is saying. Mamdani told Welker that the phrase “globalize intifada” (her words, not his) is not what he would say, but that he is not going to police the speech of others.

The term “intifada” broadly means “an uprising” against oppression, and Mamdani’s platform is resistance to billionaires using their money and power to oppress people – like the current GOP stripping healthcare from millions of working poor Americans.
