As one might expect, Election Night parties are going to be ubiquitous in Jacksonville Tuesday night.
The Mayoral race, which has gotten national attention, sees three Election Night watch parties.
Alvin Brown supporters will convene at the Jacksonville Landing. “Mayor Alvin Brown will join friends, family, volunteers, and supporters to watch election night returns and celebrate his re-election as mayor of Jacksonville. The Duval County DEC election night party will be held at the Jacksonville Landing in the heart of Downtown Jacksonville,” states the release from the Campaign.
The Bill Bishop campaign will gather with supporters at the Mossfire Grill in Five Points as Election results come in Tuesday evening. Bishop has drawn a lot of grassroots support from Five Points and the surrounding “Urban Core” neighborhoods of Riverside, Avondale, Springfield, and San Marco, and a robust turnout is expected for this event.
Lenny Curry supporters, meanwhile, will congregate at the Downtown Hyatt in the River Terrace room.
Mayoral candidates are not the only ones having watch parties. Supervisor of Elections hopeful Mike Hogan will have a party at his headquarters on Jacksonville’s Southside. His son Joseph claims there will be “festivities out the wazoo.”
