On Wednesday, the Florida Chamber announced the appointment of Michael Minton to a one-year term as the Florida Chamber’s Palm Beach/Treasure Coast Regional Board Chair.
Minton is a shareholder and chair of the Agribusiness Industry Team of Dean, Mead, Minton & Zwemer. Minton, who returned to his hometown of Fort Pierce in 1987 to practice law, has been a fixture in the Treasure Coast since.
“Serving as the Florida Chamber’s Palm Beach/Treasure Coast Regional Board Chair is an exciting opportunity,” said Minton in a prepared statement. “I am eager to unite fellow Palm Beach/Treasure Coast business leaders behind the Florida Chamber’s pro-business initiatives.”
Minton has more than three decades of experience in Florida agri-business. From 1997 to 2001, Minton was vice chair of the governing board of the South Florida Water Management District. Since then, he has been involved in water-related issues in the Treasure Coast and beyond.
“Michael Minton is a highly experienced business leader who fully understands what it takes to lead Florida to a new and sustainable economy,” said Mark Wilson, president and CEO of the Florida Chamber, in the email. “In his role as a Florida Chamber Regional Board Chair, Michael will champion the Florida Chamber’s mission to secure Florida’s future.”
There are, all told, 12 regional board chairs. The common thread: a lot of establishment business experience, and familiarity with the legislative side.
