Billie Tucker is one of the leading forces in recent years in Jacksonville, Florida’s right wing. The founder of the First Coast Tea Party and impresario behind the Leaderboard Luncheon series that saw Alvin Brown appear and make a doomed play for the right, Tucker reached out to invite Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry to two upcoming events: Thursday’s LeaderBoard Roundtable, and an Aug. 8 Jacksonville iteration of the “Let’s Put US in USA Tour.”
The email has an overarching theme: making Curry a central part of the near-term branding efforts of Tucker’s organization, Grassroots 4 Victory USA.
The LeaderBoard Roundtable was to afford Curry a chance to talk about his plans to the group. While his team readies the budget for Monday’s budget address, however, the mayor will not have the time to attend.
Meanwhile, regarding Let’s Put US in USA, Tucker suggested that “[a]s the Mayor of Jacksonville, we would like to invite you to be on our stage to wish us well and send us out to America.”
One notable local politician who will be in attendance Aug. 8: former Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll.
