The CD 2 race to replace Gwen Graham, whose fortunes took a hit in the recent base map that would bisect Tallahassee and make her district more Republican, is picking up steam.

As we’ve reported, Republicans are licking their chops in preparation for what will be a combative primary.

One candidate, Neal Dunn, already has had plenty of opposition research dumped his way, as our article indicates.

From charges that he’s a RINO to reports of delinquent taxes and that he supports Democrats such as Charlie Crist and U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, the Panama City urologist is in the cross hairs of supporters of other candidates.

And of other campaigns, as a Friday email from Lisa Morrison, the spokeswoman for the Mary Thomas campaign, suggests.

By way of welcoming him to the CD 2 scrum, the Thomas campaign has five questions for Dunn:

As Neal Dunn announces his candidacy for FL-2 this morning, members of the media are encouraged to ask him these five questions.

1. Why did he contribute to Charlie Crist but not to Marco Rubio?
2. Why did he and the special interest group he worked for lobby for Obamacare?
3. Why did he contribute to the Democratic Congressman who represented this district?
4. Why did [he] support liberal Senator Bill Nelson over Conservative Congressman Connie Mack?
5. If [he] supports Democrats and supports Obamacare why isn’t he running as a Democrat?

It remains to be seen whether those questions will be asked directly to the candidate. Whether they are or not, they clearly are going to be used in messaging for as long as he’s in the race.
