Qualifying Orlando municipal races ended Friday with Mayor Buddy Dyer and two incumbent City Commissioners facing challengers in November.

Dyer will face businessman and veteran Paul Paulson, as well as student Linda “Sunshine” Grund, who filed late Friday. The mayor will be favored to win a fifth term with a heavy fundraising advantage and wide support from the business community

In District 4, Commissioner Sheehan faces two opponents. Navy Veteran, Aretha Olivarez, who unsuccessfully challenged Sheehan in 2012, and talk show host and activist Randy Ross. Like Dyer, Sheehan will have the upper hand with name ID and fundraising.

District 6 Commissioner Sam Ings faces four challengers including activists Lawanna Gelzer who unsuccessfully challenge Ings in 2012, Realtor Nathan Chambers, university professor Ka’Juel Washington, and insurance agent Marcus Robinson.

District 2 Commissioner Tony Ortiz won his third term without opposition.

Election Day is November 3rd.
