Meeting planned between Lenny Curry administration, FDOT on Friday

Florida Politics has learned that a “meet-and-greet” meeting with “no fixed agenda” is planned Friday between members of the Lenny Curry administration, including the mayor and Chief Administrative Officer Sam Mousa, and the Florida Department of Transportation.

Among the issues to be discussed, according to an email from Mousa, are area transportation issues. Those could include matters such as the Liberty Street and Overland Bridge, and port dredging.

As has been widely reported, Curry has stoked controversy with his decision to disband the port task force, then remove former ambassador Nancy Soderberg from the board itself.

Curry told the Times-Union that the composition of all boards would be under review, as he seeks to stack boards with those who have a “shared vision for the city.”

This meeting with FDOT, which might seem more ordinary in a different context, has more importance since it could result in action on one of those issues, which would help mollify critics.
