Gov. Scott names two to South Broward Hospital District Board

South Broward Hospital District Board (Large)

On Wednesday, Gov. Rick Scott named Karen Harrington and reappointed Douglas Harrison to the South Broward Hospital District Board of Commissioners. Both terms are through June 30, 2019.

South Broward Hospital District oversees all actions of Memorial Healthcare System, the third-largest public health care system in the nation. Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, one of the largest hospitals in Florida, serves as the flagship facility of the system.

Harrison, 46, of Pembroke Pines, is an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Miami. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and law degree from the University Of Florida College Of Law.

Harrington, 51, of Dania Beach, is the owner of Rickey’s Restaurants in Broward County. She attended Broward College. Harrington will succeed Albert Jones.
