Craig Thompson is new Jacksonville director of intragovernmental services

A Friday personnel move in Jacksonville, as Craig “CJ”  Thompson has been selected as the new director of intragovernmental services, replacing Paul Martinez, who left at the end of July.

He was brought aboard Thursday, and the announcement was made Friday.

Among his many tasks will be handling challenges in Fleet Management and Informational Technologies, two areas where resources haven’t kept up with needs.

“I am delighted to add ‘CJ’ to a leadership team who’s already making great gains and efforts to strengthen and improve city services,” said Mayor Lenny Curry in a prepared statement. “His extensive knowledge, background, and experiences in county government are strong and will be of great benefit to the City of Jacksonville.”

 Most recently, Thompson was Baker County manager in. He comes into his new position at a $116,000 salary.
