An interesting career move may be in the offing for Republican political operative Raymond Johnson, if a recent Facebook post is any indication.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is looking for new community service officers, and Johnson has declared an intent to apply.
“I’m applying for this CSO position to make a real steady life for myself,” Johnson declared on Facebook Monday.
“I was almost hired nine years ago after starting the application and background process,” Johnson said, “but never finished the process due to perusing [SIC?] what I thought to be a career in campaigning.”
Huge loss to public safety there.
“A short time later they ended up cutting the program due to budget cuts anyway,” Johnson continued.
Johnson certainly would be an interesting add to the community service officer program.
Perhaps Johnson could regale his fellow recruits with his “history of the Confederate flag.”
Or perhaps, while serving the community, he could draw more analogies between the local Republican Party and Nazis.
Or maybe, for those of his colleagues who might be undecided in an upcoming election, he could offer a “Christian voter’s guide.”
In any case, we should all feel safer knowing that Johnson may be part of the public safety solution going forward.
His commitment to equal protections for all under the law may be, to some, in question though.
