Katherine Van Zant expands fundraising advantage in HD 19

Katherine Van Zant

The big money story in the House District 19 GOP race in December is Katherine Van Zant widening her fundraising lead.

There was $21,907 of December money for Van Zant, wife of Charles Van Zant, the incumbent who’s one of the more powerful Republicans in the lower house. It brings her total to $109,910, against just over $25,000 spent.

Koch brothers money was among the many maximum donations from companies in such sectors as citrus, tree farming, and real estate development to Van Zant, a Keystone Heights Republican.

Leslie Dougher barely cleared four figures in December, with just over $1,100 bringing the former RPOF Chair close to $41,000 raised against about $13,000 spent.

Bobby Payne‘s $2,850 December brought him over the $50,000 mark, against just under $5,000 spent.
