Marco Rubio makes anti-abortion pitch in new Iowa spot

As the Iowa caucuses approach, Marco Rubio makes a play for evangelicals in a 30-second spot called “Life,” in which he asserts that being anti-abortion is a “human rights issue.”

He takes particular aim at “late-term abortions” that affect children who would be “viable outside the womb.”

“If I have to make a choice I am going to choose life,” Rubio says over a haunting synthesized instrumental background.

“Not because I want to tell anybody what to do with their bodies,” Rubio says, anticipating the traditional pro-choice counter argument.

“But because I believe one of the fundamental rights given to us by our creator is the right to live.”

“Marco shares how life is a fundamental right given to us by God,” his campaign says.
