Republican Congressional District 18 candidate Rebecca Negron launches a new campaign ad Thursday highlighting her conservative bona fides, her campaign said.
“Washington is out of touch, and I think it is high-time that we send Washington a message,” Negron said. “I’ve been working in the Treasure Coast community for 40 years, supporting churches and helping to protect the Lagoon. Far too often, it is Washington politicians that stand in the way of progress. With the help of my friends on the Treasure Coast on Election Day, we’ll send Washington a message that federal overreach is about to come to an end.”
The 30-second spot says Negron “fought for her patients against an out-of-control bureaucracy” as a nurse, and highlights her opposition to common core standards during her tenure on the Martin County School Board.
“I’ve lived here nearly 40 years. I will never stop fighting for our community,” Negron says in the ad.
Other priorities mentioned in the ad, which will air on Fox News, include strengthening the military and protecting the environment — including the Indian River Lagoon, a priority of her husband, Senate President-designate Joe Negron.
Negron faces a long list of Republicans, including former Florida Rep. Carl Domino and Republican activist Rick Kozell, for the seat now held by Democratic U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy, who is seeking a seat in the U.S. Senate.
