One of Florida’s most prominent government relations and public affairs firms is expanding its reach.

Prime Strategies is opening up shop in Washington, D.C., and New York. The firm is an offshoot of Floridian Partners; Adam Sharon has been tapped to manage the Washington, D.C., office.

“As clients increasingly asked us to work on multistate and national engagements, we began to look outside Florida for top talent to grow that line of business,” said Patrick Maloy, managing partner of Prime Strategies. “Prime Strategies was formed for that purpose and Adam Sharon and Cecilia Norat are the ideal professionals to help us build our brand and deliver for our clients.”

Sharon most recently was the communications director for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. From 2006 to 2010, Sharon worked for then-Rep. Kendrick Meek, a Miami Democrat, in Congress and on his 2010 U.S. Senate campaign.

“Working alongside such talented professionals to build and grow Prime Strategies is a tremendous opportunity,” said Sharon in a prepared statement. “At Prime Strategies we are building a strong team with a diverse set of skills, who can reach across state lines and around the globe to achieve positive results for our clients.”

Norat has been tapped to manage the New York office. She is the former deputy general counsel for the American Insurance Group.

In Florida, Prime Strategies will be co-located within the Miami and Tallahassee offices of Floridian Partners.

“Floridian Partners has established an unparalleled track record of success throughout Florida and with the launch of Prime Strategies, we will offer more diverse services to our clients in the areas of communications, business consulting, and global affairs,” said Charlie Dudley, managing partner of Floridian Partners, in a prepared statement. “We are proud that our team of top-notch professionals is growing and that Prime Strategies will possess a national and international reach to deliver additional dynamic services for our clients.”

Prime Strategies is expected to expand to Texas and California later this year.
