A $31,670 February for Charles Cofer, 4th Circuit candidate for public defender, brings Cofer up to almost $60,000 raised during his three months in the race.
The majority of Cofer’s 92 contributions came from the legal community, a base Cofer expected to provide such support. Among the names are Jim Rinaman, Holland and Knight, Harrell and Harrell, and the Delegal Law Offices.
For the second straight month, Cofer has spent over $5,000, with over $4,000 of that going to John Daigle.
Cofer has spent just under $14,000. With a $7,000 personal loan added to his almost $60,000 raised, Cofer has about $53,000 cash on hand.
We are still waiting on the numbers for current Public Defender Matt Shirk. The incumbent had just over $9,000 raised in January.
We hear from his campaign that March will be the month when his fundraising machine kicks into high gear though, because he will have help ranging from Marty Fiorentino and the Fiorentino Group to the PACs of a couple of area state senators, and Ann-Marie Bravo, who has fundraising experience for such GOP names as John McCain and George Lemieux.
